Marketing to PROSTITUTES on Craigslist is Great Lesson for REALTORS

Craigslist offers such an array of lessons it is hard to know what to point out first. Walter Arzon, SVP of Sales for Ardynn Media Group, does a daily spot check of real estate related listings online and came across this doozy of an ad today

Writing an attention grabbing headline is crucial when it comes to ads, press releases and blog posts but there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed. While the above ad was not posted by a REALTOR it is irresponsible in that my immediate thought was this guy is an idiot and it might be a scam. Who knows what the poster was thinking but they weren’t considering the reaction potential tenants might have.

Besides making your headline attention grabbing you want to make sure it represents your listing well.

PRIVATE, Fully Appointed House with Gorgeous Interior For Rent…would get you calls responses for sure. I recommend that you act in reverse when it comes to your listing headline and write it last to make it fit the descriptive copy of your listing.

Now if the bedroom had mirrored ceilings, a stripper pole in the master suite and built-in vibrating bed then you would be right on point with such a headline.
